Custom Coil Design Inputs

Custom coils are easiest to quote when the available envelope and tube route are clear. The supplied Uniinox catalog can provide a reference geometry, but the approved project drawing controls the final product.

Start with the installation envelope

Provide the tank or vessel inside dimensions, access opening and any internal obstructions. Indicate whether the connections must enter from the top, side or base.

  • Available diameter or width
  • Maximum coil height
  • Installation opening
  • Connection direction and clearance

Define the tube and coil geometry

State tube material, outside diameter and wall. Add coil diameter, number of circuits, pitch, straight-leg lengths, bend radii and dimensional tolerances where controlled.

  • Tube OD, wall and material
  • Coil diameter and height
  • Pitch and number of turns
  • Single or dual circuit

Provide the service conditions

Identify the internal working medium and the tank-side medium, along with operating temperature, pressure and the heating or cooling objective.

  • Working media
  • Temperature range
  • Operating and design pressure
  • Required duty when available

Specify ends, supports and inspection

Connection ends, mounting details, supports, surface condition, cleaning and testing should be shown on the drawing or listed in the RFQ.

  • Threaded, plain or project-specific ends
  • Supports or mounting plate
  • Cleaning and surface requirements
  • Inspection and quantity

Frequently asked questions

Project questions

Can a catalog coil size be modified?

Yes. Catalog geometries are reference starting points; final dimensions and interfaces are reviewed against the project drawing.

What is the most important dimension for an immersion coil?

There is no single universal dimension. The complete installation envelope, access opening and connection position need to be reviewed together.
